Governors
As our school is part of the Catholic Church, the Diocese of Westminster appoints governors to hold the school in trust, and to oversee the operation of the school on behalf of the Archbishop. The governors “have a legal duty to preserve and develop the Catholic character of the school and to ensure that the school is conducted in accordance with its trust deed (RCDOW).”
The three core functions of the governing board are as follows:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
- Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management of staff; and
- Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent. (RCDOW)

Mr Vedran Biondic
Chair of Governors
It is an absolute privilege to be the Chair of Governors at St. Joseph’s after 8 years on the Board and to be able to continue to support staff and pupils. St. Joseph’s is a wonderful primary school delivering a top-quality Catholic education while striving for academic excellence. Both of my children were pupils here; they both made excellent progress and thoroughly enjoyed their time at the school.
