Governors
As our school is part of the Catholic Church, the Diocese of Westminster appoints governors to hold the school in trust, and to oversee the operation of the school on behalf of the Archbishop. The governors “have a legal duty to preserve and develop the Catholic character of the school and to ensure that the school is conducted in accordance with its trust deed (RCDOW).”
The three core functions of the governing board are as follows:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
- Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management of staff; and
- Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent. (RCDOW)

Fr Marco Lazzaron
Foundation Governor and Parish Priest
My name is Marco Lazzaron, I am originally from Milan and I have been Assitant Priest in St Joseph’s Catholic Church since my Ordination. In the past two years I have been a Foundation Governor at the Primary School and the experience has been very important for my formation. It is a wonderful time and it is lovely to meet many children and their parents when I come during the year for the different liturgical celebration at St Joseph’s. It is engaging also to chat with our little ones on their lunch break!
