Year One went for a walk in our outdoor learning area. We went on a Mini-Beast Safari to explore different habitats and discover where minibeasts live. The children looked at the base of tree trunks, looked closely at the bark, under leaves and carefully searched beneath logs to see what they could find. We discovered a variety of minibeasts, including spiders, beetles and ladybirds. The children learnt that minibeasts need safe places to shelter and access to food, just like we do in our homes.

Year 2 have really enjoyed their art topic this term, exploring different drawing techniques and developing their artistic skills. Some of our favourite lessons included investigating the textures of objects around the classroom and outside, creating observational drawings of our teddy bears, and experimenting with tone to make our drawings lighter and darker.

We are so proud of the creativity and attention to detail the children have shown throughout this topic!
