Mental Health and Wellbeing

We all have mental health, just as we all have physical health. Our mental health is how we’re feeling inside, or how we are emotionally. (Mental Health.org)

Our mental health is just as important as our physical health. It can affect our daily lives – how we feel, as well as our ability to do the things we need and want to do, including work, study, getting on with people and looking after ourselves and others.

When a child or adult is struggling with their mental health, there can be strategies put in place to help them deal with their thoughts and feelings. Here at St Joseph’s we do our upmost best to support children and adults who are struggling and can work with outside agencies when additional support is needed.

Please see the links below that may help if you, your child or someone you care about is struggling with their mental health.

Our school uses a family and pupil support service called Aspects.

Aspects can support children aged 5–19 at school, and also offer support to families. They are based at All Saints School, Bishops Stortford – but they work with over 20 schools in our area.

Their family support workers can help with a wide range of family challenges. Aspects work with children, families and schools to make sure your child is surrounded by a team of caring people.

For more information on the service Aspects provide and details on how a parent can self-refer, please click on the link below:
