In Acorn class, we have been enjoying the story the Gingerbread Man in class. There were lots of exciting activities linked to the story to take part in. Some of these included baking real Gingerbread Men biscuits, retelling the story with puppets, hunting for those hidden outside, rescuing the Gingerbread Man frozen in ice and helping him swim in Gelli Baff, pretend baking with ginger play dough, subitising the buttons on his body then feeding into the foxes mouth and decorating a pattern on his body using loose parts. What a busy time we had.
In Ash and Beech class, we have been busy baking and decorating our very own gingerbread men! We discussed the changes in the dough as we were mixing the ingredients and also after we had finished baking. This has linked to our listening of the story and our learning about the character actions. We had such a fantastic time bringing the gingerbread man to life and wanted to share some of our creations with you. We could not wait to take them home and eat them!
